The closing ceremony of the film festival "Golden Apricot" this year will be held at the Cinema House and will be marked by the screening of the film "Calendar" by Atom Egoyan, which turned 30 this year.
Prior to the screening of Egoyan's film, the Freedom Broker investment company, which is the official partner of Golden Apricot, will award one of the best participants in the "Koriz" (Stone) short film competition with a special prize, rewarding the film crew with 1 million drams for the implementation of the next project.
The Golden Apricot Film Festival is held in Yerevan from July 9 to 16 under the slogan "Looking back is yet to come." The film festival traditionally presents to the public competitive films from around the world, including films from Cannes, Berlin, Venice and other film festivals. This year, within the framework of the film festival, the winners of 2 Golden Palms of the Cannes Film Festival, brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, the prizewinner of the "Golden Lion" of the Venice Film Festival, Japanese director, screenwriter, actor Takeshi Kitano, laureate of the Venice Film Festival, famous Filipino director Lav Diaz, Oscar-winning producer Jeremy Thomas, Kazakhstan Russian film director Sergei Dvortsevoi, chief consultant of the Cannes Film Festival on the post-Soviet region Joel Chapron and others are in Armenia.
The joint party of "Golden Apricot" and "Freedom Broker" in honor of the closing of the festival will be a gift for the guests and participants of the film festival. It will be held at Jellyfish. A.Chilla, Brian Cid, Serjo will perform at the event․
