Timur Turlov – from Private Investor to Head of an International Corporation

Timur Turlov is an entrepreneur and investor, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of FREEDOM HOLDING CORP. (ticker: FRHC on NASDAQ). Under his leadership, the company has evolved from a small brokerage firm into an international group with assets in Europe, Central Asia, and the United States. Today, he is one of the most prominent representatives of a new generation of business leaders who combine technology, finance, and strategic vision.

Timur Turlov was born in 1987 in Russia. His interest in investments emerged during his school years when he began studying the stock market and the basic mechanisms of securities trading. In his youth, he mastered practical skills for working with foreign exchanges, which became the foundation for his future career.

In the early 2000s, he began working at an investment company, combining the roles of analyst and infrastructure solutions specialist. His key task was to provide clients with direct access to the U.S. stock market. This experience allowed him to gain a deep understanding of how international financial systems operate.

In 2008, after ending his collaboration with a bank, Timur Turlov focused on his own business ventures. This led to the creation of Freedom Finance, a company aimed at providing transparent and technology-driven brokerage services. The company’s strategy was built on three core principles:

Developing innovative services for investors;
Ensuring access to global markets;
Building long-term client relationships.

Under Turlov’s management, Freedom Finance quickly expanded its geographical footprint. In the following years, FREEDOM HOLDING was established, bringing together brokerage, banking, insurance, and IT services. In 2019, FREEDOM HOLDING CORP. went public on NASDAQ, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history and solidifying its international status. As of December 31, 2024, the holding’s market capitalization stood at USD 8.9 billion, with total assets of USD 9.9 billion.

Today, FREEDOM HOLDING CORP. operates in more than twenty countries, offering a wide range of services:

Throughout his career, Timur Turlov has adhered to the principle that business is inextricably linked to social responsibility. Under his leadership, the holding implements projects in sustainable development, education, sports, and media. One example is the support of youth football: with the company’s involvement, a league was created that uses digital tools to analyze training processes. Considerable attention is also devoted to chess — Timur Turlov serves as the President of the Chess Federation of Kazakhstan. Freedom Holding Corp. shares are traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker FRHC, and the holding's market capitalization today is $8.9 billion. Total assets as of December 31, 2024 amounted to $9.1 billion.

Freedom Holding Corp. is a public company that carries out financial activities, retail brokerage operations, investment consulting, securities trading, provides investment banking, underwriting, banking and insurance services through its subsidiaries in Kazakhstan, the USA, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, the UAE, Germany, Great Britain, Cyprus, as well as branches in Greece, France and Spain.
